Holidays 2026: The Pausado Guide to Truly Dog-Friendly Campsites (and where to meet us at the Paris Animal Show)

No more stress about leaving Fido at a kennel or worrying about your booking being cancelled at the last minute. By 2026, going camping with your dog should no longer be an obstacle course, but a matter of course.

At Pausado, we have taken advantage of the new year to review our approach and move from being “tolerated dogs” to “pampered dogs”. Here is everything you need to know to prepare for your stay, and the perfect opportunity to come and discuss it with us in person.

See you at the Paris Animal Show 2026

Do you have specific questions about accommodating your pet? Would you like to see what our pitches look like before booking?

The Pausado group invites you to the Porte de Versailles for the Paris Animal Show 2026. It’s the perfect time to:

  • Receive personalised advice: Our teams are very knowledgeable about the area and will help you choose the campsite best suited to your dog’s temperament and needs.
  • Discuss with our teams the specific features of each destination (seaside, countryside, shade, etc.).

Where can you go with your dog at Pausado’s campsite?

Because every dog has its own preferences (is it more of a swimmer, hiker or napper?), our campsites offer a variety of play areas. Here is an overview to help you choose:

🌿 For hiking dogs (Provence & Luberon)

If your companion enjoys wide open spaces and the scents of the garrigue, head for our Provençal destinations. It’s paradise for long, refreshing morning walks.

  • Camping Le Luberon (Apt) & Domaine des Chênes Blancs: In the heart of the Regional Nature Park, ideal for exploring the ochre cliffs and forest trails.
  • Le Pegomas (Saint-Rémy-de-Provence) & La Vallée Heureuse (Orgon): The perfect starting point for exploring the Alpilles or climbing to breathtaking viewpoints.

🌊 For sea dogs (Blue Coast)

  • Les Tamaris (Martigues): Located on the magnificent Côte Bleue. Although access to the beaches is often restricted in summer, the coastal paths (customs officers’ paths) offer miles of sea air walks with spectacular views of the Mediterranean.

🏔️ For adventurous dogs (Alps & Ardèche)

  • Le Relais du Léman (Messery): Between lake and mountains, for a refreshing holiday in Haute-Savoie.
  • Le Ludo (Ardèche): For hardy dogs who love the wilderness and rivers, on the edge of the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Nature Park.

The Qualidog Label: What does it mean for you in practical terms?

Obtaining the Qualidog label (from Emmène ton Chien) is not just a matter of sticking a sticker on the front door. It is a guarantee that we have thought of all the details that make your daily life as a dog owner easier:

  1. Hygiene made easy: Coming back from a walk can sometimes be messy. We have installed dog showers so you can rinse your pet off comfortably before returning to your mobile home or tent.
  2. VIP welcome: Upon arrival, your dog will receive its own welcome kit. It’s our way of letting them know they’re at home here.
  3. Accessible cleanliness: Dog waste bag dispensers are strategically located throughout our campsites.

Ongoing project: Our teams are currently working on identifying the best walking trails around each campsite so that we can soon provide you with “100% dog-friendly Walks” guides upon your arrival.

No surprises regarding the budget and rules

Because hidden costs spoil holidays, we lay our cards on the table.

  • 2026 rates:
    • For pitches (tents, caravans, campervans): €4/day
    • For rentals (mobile homes, chalets): €6/day
  • Access: Your dog is welcome in all our accommodation types. No compromise on comfort!
  • Safety rules: We welcome all dogs except categories 1 and 2. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times for the peace and quiet of all guests and to protect local wildlife.

❓ FAQ: The right steps to take for a stress-free departure

Simple answers to help you pack your suitcase and your companion’s suitcase.

Are all mobile home models accessible to dogs? Absolutely. Unlike some establishments that reserve a “special pet” range (often older), at Pausado, your dog has access to our entire rental fleet, from the most classic to the most premium.

Is there a size or weight limit for dogs at Pausado? No, there is no weight limit. Only dogs in categories 1 and 2 are refused for regulatory reasons. Whether you have a Chihuahua or a Bernese Mountain Dog, you are welcome.

How can you ensure that everyone gets along well on site? The secret is mutual respect. Your dog must be kept on a lead within the campsite grounds. This reassures holidaymakers who are not used to animals and allows your dog to enjoy the site in complete safety, without the risk of getting lost.

What are the essentials to check before departure? The first thing to do is identification. Make sure your dog is microchipped (or tattooed) and that your contact details are up to date in the national database (I-CAD). Also remember to check that their vaccinations are up to date so that they can interact safely with other dogs on holiday!
